A KK Foods pack has one ingredient list, short enough to read in one breath. Chili powder is chili. Puttupodi is rice, roasted. Turmeric is turmeric. That is the entire trick, and it is also the hardest standard to keep. We keep it anyway.

These are the same checks Kerala mothers and grandmothers have always run on new packs. Run them on ours. A brand asking to be trusted should be easy to test.
Stir a spoon of chili powder into a glass of water and let it sit for 10 minutes. Pure chili powder settles slowly and colours the water gradually. If you see gritty sediment at the bottom or an instant brick-red dye, that is added filler or artificial colour, not chili.
Drop a pinch into warm water. Real turmeric releases its colour slowly, like tea steeping. Metanil yellow or sunset yellow, the common adulterants, stain the water instantly and loudly. Real turmeric also smells earthy, never perfumed.
Fresh roasted puttupodi smells of roasted rice, slightly nutty, never bitter or flat. Press a little between your fingers: it should feel like fine sand, uniform, with no oily film. An oily sheen usually means filler flour was added to mask old stock.
Rub a pinch between your palms and breathe in. Roasted coriander gives a warm, citrusy, earthy aroma. Sawdust-like bulk fillers smell of nothing. That is why we roast the seeds before milling, the aroma survives only if the roast was real.
Look closely. Real roasted rava has uneven, toasted grains with a light golden colour from the roast itself. If the grains are unnaturally uniform or snow-white, the rava was not roasted, and your upma will be sticky no matter how carefully you cook it.
Freshness is a purity test you can run before you even open the pack. Every KK Foods pack carries the date it was milled and packed. Spices fade, roasted flours lose their nuttiness, so check the date first, the way you would check the milk.

We buy known lots of grains and sun-dried chilies from suppliers we have used for years. If a lot does not smell right at the gate, it goes back.

Grains and seeds are roasted in small runs, the step that builds aroma and keeps flours from turning sticky. It takes longer. We accept that.

Milled to the texture each product needs, puttupodi fine for steam, rava coarse for upma. Batches stay small so every one gets attention.

Packed the same week they are milled. The packed-on date goes on every pack, so freshness is yours to check, not ours to claim.
